CCA Board Speaks To City Council

June 14, 2016

The CCA Board attended the City of Rochester “Speak to Council” session on June 14, 2016. The Board addressed its concerns to City Council Members in four key areas: Scope, Impact on Traffic and Parking, Funding and Financial Viability. Port Update – May 24, 2016

The City of Rochester posted on their WEB site the May 2016 updated Site Plan  from Greg Weykamp, President, Edgewater Resources,

On May 24, 2016 the City of Rochester had a Site Plan Review meeting where the Project Review Committee made up of volunteers with design/architectural expertise discussed the May 2016 updated development plan for Charlotte on the first parcel of land to be developed.  Only the Committee and Edgewater Resources are allowed to speak.

Site Plan Review is a formal detailed review of a project or proposal required under Section 120-191D of the City Code to assess the plans for a given site.

Site Plan Review assesses a projects elements of design and function, identifies necessary referrals to other public agencies, and often includes project recommendations.  Here’s link to City of Rochester’s Site Review page for review:  http://www.cityofrochester.gov/article.aspx?id=8589936657

CCA Board of Directors

Port Update – April 22, 2016

On March 29th, 2016, the CCA Board met with Mr. Greg Weykamp, President, Edgewater Resources, to discuss the current state of the Port of Rochester Mixed Used Development Project. A letter was then sent to the Mayor of the City of Rochester, Mayor Lovely Warren, outlining the discussion and requesting follow up.

The Board is currently working with the City of Rochester Office of Constituent Services to schedule an update from City officials with the Charlotte Community Association at-large.

Port Update – April 30, 2016

The Charlotte Community Association Board of Directors received a reply letter from City of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, addressing the concerns outlined in our letter to her on April 22nd (see above). In addition, the Mayor accepted an invitation from the Board to have members of her staff to update the community on the status of the Port of Rochester Mixed Use Development Project at the CCA monthly meeting on May 2, 2016, at the Roger Robach Community Center, 188 Beach Avenue.

The Commissioner of Rochester’s Neighborhood and Business Development, Mr. Baye Muhammad, Senior Economic Development Specialist, Mr. Rick Rynski and Planning and Zoning Director, Ms. Zina Lagonegro, will address the group as part of the normal monthly agenda which will also include updates from RPD, RFD, elected representatives and neighborhood stakeholders.
